Our Process

How We Value & Authenticate Your Watch

No black boxes and no bait-and-switch. Here is exactly what happens from the moment you send your details to the moment you are paid — and how we authenticate every watch we buy.

  1. 01

    You send the details

Complete the valuation form with your watch’s brand, model, reference and condition, plus a few photos if you have them. The more we can see — dial, case back, movement and any paperwork — the sharper our initial figure.

  2. 02

    We research the real market

We value against genuine pre-owned evidence: recent sold prices for your exact reference, condition, and whether it comes with box and papers. We are not guessing, and we are not pulling a headline number to reel you in.

  3. 03

You get a firm, no-obligation offer

We email a firm offer — usually within a few working hours. There is no pressure and no obligation. If it is not for you, simply decline; there is nothing more to do.

  4. 04

    Free, fully insured postage

If you accept, we send a free insured postal pack with everything you need to send the watch safely. For higher-value pieces we can arrange insured courier collection, and in-person drop-off is available by appointment.

  5. 05

    In-house authentication

When your watch arrives, every parcel is opened and recorded on camera, then our watchmaker inspects and authenticates it — confirming the movement, case, dial and overall condition match what was described. Filming the unboxing documents the condition on arrival, so it is never in dispute. This protects both sides and is how we stand behind every purchase.

  6. 06

    Same-day payment

Once authenticated, we pay by bank transfer — same day we receive and authenticate your watch. If anything differs materially from the description, we will talk it through, and you can always have the watch returned free of charge.

Authentication

What our watchmaker checks

Authentication protects you as much as it protects us: it means the offer you accepted is the offer you are paid, and it is why we can transfer funds the same day. Every watch goes through the same checks.

  • ✓ Every incoming parcel opened and recorded on camera for a documented arrival
  • ✓ Reference and model confirmation against the case, dial and documentation
  • ✓ Movement inspection — calibre, finishing and operation
  • ✓ Case and dial originality: refinishing, replacement parts or redials
  • ✓ Condition grading honestly against the pre-owned market
  • ✓ Cross-check of serial, production era and any box and papers supplied

Honesty is the whole point

We would rather tell you a watch is worth less than you hoped — and explain why — than win it with a number we cannot stand behind. If we spot a redial, a replacement bezel or a service-replaced part, you will hear about it.

Not happy with a revised offer after inspection? Your watch is returned to you free of charge, fully insured. You risk nothing by finding out what it is worth.

Common Questions

Valuation & Authentication — FAQs

Is the first valuation a firm offer?

It is a firm offer based on the information and photos you provide. The figure is confirmed once we physically inspect and authenticate the watch. If the watch matches its description, the offer stands.

What if my watch is worth less than the initial figure?

If an in-person inspection reveals something that materially affects value — for example an undisclosed redial or replacement part — we will explain it and, if needed, revise the offer. You are always free to decline and have the watch returned to you free of charge.

Do I need the box and papers?

No. We buy watches with no box or papers every day. A full set can add value, but its absence does not stop us making a strong offer.

How do you authenticate watches?

Every watch is inspected by our watchmaker, who confirms the movement, case, dial and condition against the reference and any documentation. This in-house check is how we buy with confidence and pay quickly.

How quickly am I paid?

Payment is sent by bank transfer, same day we receive and authenticate your watch. In-person drop-offs can take a little longer, as payment depends on our watchmaker’s availability to verify the watch.
